DIY Energy Balls

These energy balls are my go-to snack! I make a batch of these weekly and keep in the fridge. These contain quick carbs from the oats and syrup making them a great pre-workout snack, can serve as a quick energy boost while on the trails, and are packed with omega-3s from flax and nut butter to promote recovery and fight inflammation.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup quick oats (or can use normal oats, I just prefer the consistency of quick oats!)

  • 1/2 cup ground flax seed

  • 1/2 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, sunflower, etc.)

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • Add-ins (chocolate chips, coconut flakes, chopped nuts, dried fruit, cinnamon - your chance to be creative!)

Steps:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in bowl

  2. Roll into balls

  3. Refrigerate for at least 30 mins

  4. Enjoy!

Store in fridge for best texture.
